360° Light Field Display

The Graphics Lab at the University of Southern California has come up with a cheap way to create images in 3D space (as opposed to planar space) by using a spinning mirror called a light-field display. Basically high speed video is projected onto a quickly spinning mirror, which then “reflects a different and accurate image to each potential viewer.” The [...]

CG Modeling | Final Concept Poster | The Cloud Fish

The Cloud Fish Preliminary Poster Layout Basically I want to make a somewhat Steam Punk dirigible or blimp.  I was thinking a lot about our Top 100 critique and I thought I should do something that incorporates the aspects that were highlight during the discussion.  It was pointed out that I have a love of [...]

CG Modeling | Revision of the Village

After suggestions during critique I added a few additional wire frames to the poster and adjusted the color.  I also added an environment.  I tried to go back in and bevel the edges of many of the buildings, so they don’t have an infinite edge.  Unfortunately they’re already too complex to transform in that way. CG Modeling | Reference for Midterm

I have surrounded myself with reference while I’m planing out my island village.  I am basing all of the buildings in my village on Ancient Chinese Architecture.  I will first design the terrain, then the layout of the main house and the roads, and then the outlying buildings.  These are just a few examples of [...]

CG Modeling | Botanic | Diskursdisko

This is a wonderful campaign for swedish flooring company Bolon’s new line of eco-friendly woven vinyl flooring.  Nature photography and handicraft have inspired renderings of flowers, herbs and plants in woven vinyl.  The concepts of scale and texture are used well in this design and the playful nature creates a wonderful interaction. I will add [...]

The Pomodoro Technique

I’m trying this time management technique. It worked pretty well for me all day today. I’ll keep using it when I have several projects going at the same time. Which is often. The basic unit of work in the Pomodoro Technique™ can be split in five simple steps: Choose a task to be accomplished Set [...]
